Candidates are included on this list at the sole discretion of the Long Island Strong Schools Alliance, a nonpartisan 501(c)4 nonprofit organization. Candidates have been chosen based on their commitment to public schools and to students, parents, and teachers, not political ideologies. In some cases, this list may include candidates who are running against each other. Inclusion here does not imply communication between LISSA and the candidate or endorsement by LISSA PAC.
