Internships

We are currently recruiting college and graduate interns to join LISSA for the Fall 2022 semester. Interns will work on several different projects so that they learn the inner workings of an education-focused not-for-profit organization. Interns may, for example, manage social media outreach, craft and respond to emails, manage events, and contribute and participate in workshops, trainings, and community events. Interns will also have the opportunity to conduct research on projects related to LISSA’s mission.

Fall semester internships will start September 6, 2022 and will continue until December 16, 2022. Student interns are expected to devote 12-14 hours/week to the internship. Internships may be completed for course credit, and students who successfully complete the internship will receive a $500 stipend at the end of the semester.

The internship will be primarily carried out remotely, including regular video meetings with supervisor and other team members, with occasional in-person activities on Long Island.

Who Should Apply

Intern candidates must be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students. We look for candidates with strong writing skills, a track record of reliability, and demonstrated professionalism. Social media experience is a plus. We will accept interns majoring in any field, and especially appreciate applications from students interested in careers in teaching, political science, social work, or other public service. If you have a question, please reach out and ask!
